Bounced: SPX Encrypted when sending to Live / Hotmail addresses

I am setting up data protection and am testing with some regular expressions to automatically SPX-encrypt mails containing certain data.

This works well sending to several mailaddresses (ie Gmail), but when sending the same mail to a Microsoft (Live / Hotmail / Outlook.com) account, the mail gets bounced. In mailmanager it is listed as Bounced: SPX Encrypted.

Looks like UTM is is failing to comply to RFC 5322. 

Anyone else also seeing this?

  • Made a support call to Sophos and got the following information back:

    Thank you for your email, our labs and development team are aware of the SPX compliance issue and are currently working to rectify this issue.

    There is currently no projected fix date but I will keep you informed.
