iOS7 and UTM9.3 challenge

I have an external mail server supporting pop and SMTP. also I have simple mode mail filtering active and this works without issues. I have created the users so i can track the activity

the issue is that my iOS7 devices are not able to connect to the mailserver.. I get an error; the mail server is not responding and I do not see any logical notification in the firewall logs.

Wifi management is not enabled on the UTM

any suggestion please. 

note; I have not moved to iOS8 on my ipads as the makes my ipads very slow.

    Coert, it looks like you have your own domain.  Rather than using the POP3 Proxy, if your ISP isn't blocking port 25, I would use the SMTP Proxy to reject SPAM, etc. before it even gets to your mail server.  This will allow you to have the clients use IMAP instead of POP3.  If your ISP does block port 25, you still could do this using relay services like DNS Exit that cost $25/year.

    Check out Wingman's excellent post that is stickied at the top of this forum.  It also explains how to set up encryption, but the parts about configuring for an external mail server stand on their own.  After we collaborated on the Encryption "trick," he created that How-To make working with an external mail server accessible to everyone.  Before following his instructions, read the other posts in the thread.
