Email protection - Disconnect delivery target for a amount of time

Hello,

We would like to use SPAM protection in our environment. Our Sophos SG-210 accepts 3 email domains and redirect emails from these domains to a host which is an Exchange server.

Sometimes it happens that we do a maintenance on our Exchange server. During this time, I would like to suspend the delivery of our emails from the Sophos SG-210 to this Exchange server and I would like that emails stay in spool until our maintenance is finished.

Is there a way to do this? How can I set to stop delivery to Exchange server and spool the emails?

The only way I found so far is to close the network connectivity between our Sophos SG-210 and the Exchange server but I don't like this solution...

I tried with a firewall rule which I activate during the maintenance:
FROM: Any -> Protocols: Any -> To: Exchange server
But unfortunately the Sophos SG-210 is delivering mails. I guess that SMTP proxy is ahead firewall rules.

Can you help me?

    What do you mean by "server connectivity"?

    By routing, you will say that I can forward emails through Static Host list to a "temporary" mail server which in fact doesn't exists and point to anything? Thanks to this, emails couldn't be delivered and then cached into the Sophos SG-210 retention?
