Hi I have the same problem. I am trying to migrate from the SOPHOS VM email appliance to the UTM. The Sophos email appliance has been working for years. Email is
forwarded from my ISP to the appliance then through to our in house exchange server.
In the routing tab I have the 3 domains listed that we receive emails from.
In the host list I have the name of our exchange server.
In the relaying tab I have the external ip address of the ISP mail
Sending mail from internal addresses to external works fine when I plug the UTM in.
Sending a message from my bigpond account to my internal work address gives
Final-Recipient: rfc822;User.Name@centralcoast.tas.gov.au
Action: failed
Status: 5.7.1
Diagnostic-Code: smtp;554 5.7.1 <User.Namet@centralcoast.tas.gov.au>: Relay access denied
When I have the UTM pluuged in.
Hi, Stuart. Please compare your configuration to Basic Exchange setup with SMTP Proxy. As above, please show the lines from the SMTP log related to the failed relay in your post. Why do you have "the external ip address of the ISP mail" In the relaying tab?
Cheers - Bob
Thanks Bob
I fell for the young players trap. I was previously using a SOPHOS email appliance and so there was a NAT directing all mail to that appliance. With that appliance turned off the mail was being directed to no where. Disabled the NAT and UTM mail filtering works. The external ip address of the ISP mail was put into the relaying tab in desperation. It has now been removed. Thanks for your help
