What's needed in SMTP->Relaying->Upstream-hosts/networks

Hi,

I'm just checking the SMTP configuration of my UTM Version 9.3 and don't know what to enter in Relaying->Upstream-host/Networks.
I use an internal Exchange Server and receive mails using an MX at my ISP:

- Hostname mydomain.de, Type MX, Priority 20, Destination extern.mydomain.de
- Hostname mydomain.de, Type MX, Priority 40, Destination myisp

What do I have to enter in Upstream-hosts/Networks that spam checking works correct. Which URL or IP?
Should I check "Allow upstream/relay hosts only"?

Kind regards
Peter

  • I'm not sure I understand your notation concerning your MX records.  If none of the MX records is an FQDN that points at the UTM, then you should check the box.  If the MX with priority 40 is an FQDN that points to  backup MTA at your ISP, then add a DNS Host for that FQDN to 'Upstream hosts...'.
