2 internal mail servers

Is there a way to get Sophos UTM 9.3 to send all incoming mail to 2 different internal mail servers at the same time? I currently use a Linux based mail server and I want to set up an Exchange server for testing and learning. 

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

    Hi, Kevin, and welcome to the User BB!

    You can't have the SMTP Proxy send emails to both servers, but you should be able to configure one of the mail servers to copy everything to the other mail server.

    The ability to do this is something we have requested for years so as to enable online archiving of mails.  We get the UTM to do this by using the Exim 'unseen deliver' configuration, however this has to be manually configured and generally reset (or at least rechecked) on every upgrade.  As the functionality is already there, we just would like to see the ability to configure it from within WebAdmin.

    If you are just testing you could set it up yourself, however bear in mind that this is not supported by Sophos and could void your support.

    You can deliver all mail to exchange and tell exchange it is not authoritative for the domain and if a mailbox is not found, to deliver to your secondary server.

    As an alternative, you could create a subdomain, like test.domain.com and create a dns record with its own MX record...you can then route by domain with the UTM... this has the advantage that internally you can route mails between the two.

    Even if you plan to use exchange for production, you can set it up for the original domain (domain.com) and tell it's not authoritative for it, so that when you send mail from test.domain.com exchange will send it to the UTM and route it to your primary server.

    this second set-up is better, because in the UTM you can keep using the callout feature to verify recipients, whereas in the first case, all mails would accepted by exchange as it doesnt know which users exists and which no. You then may have a problem of spam, and mail sent back to "ghosts"  will flag you as a spammer.
