Dynamic SMTP Smarthosts

Hi

We use our ISPs mail server for sending out emails. 
We have a primary (ADSL) and a secondary back up internet connection (LTE).

Because they are different ISPs the mail servers are different as well.

How can I configure the Sophos UTM 9.2 to change the smarthost based on which internet link is currently being used?

    Hi RM,

    I assume that you mean that you use your ISPs' smart hosts.  In that case, in the 'Smarthost settings' on the 'Advanced' tab, create an Availability Group that contains the Host definition for the ADSL connection smart host first and the one for the LTE second.

    Also, in 'Uplink Balancing', I would make both connections Active, but weight the ADSL 100 and (assuming that you are charged for data usage) the LTE 0 (zero).  Bind all traffic to the ADSL connection with a Multipath rule.

    Finally, make sure you have no conflict with #3 in Rulz.
