Problem receiving messages from Outlook.com "SSL_write error 5"

One of our users notified us that he was having occasional issues receiving email from a certain sender.  So I looked into it, and found this particular error "SSL_write error 5" in the SMTP logs of emails coming from the sender's email host, Outlook.com.

Then I looked at several other Sophos UTM installs and saw the same error, always from Outlook.com senders.

I've attached a sample transaction (with changed identifiers), but it's consistent across firewalls and different recipients (entirely different domains, etc.).

I'm not sure what to make of this?
