Why Why Why is this so difficult?
I have a .local domain and a .com.au public domain. My ASG (Sophos) appliance is named appliance.com.au and I have not been able to connect to the https://userportal:4333 easily until I created a .com.au zone on my DC and created all the Cnames and A records that are out in public dns. Now from the LAN I can access the userportal at https://UserPortal.company.com.au:4333 but only after I add this URL to the proxy exception list in IE.
Can anyone tell me if there is an easier way? Why do I have to go to all this effort to allow my users access to their mail quarantine from within the corporate network? Why cant I simply access the normal public address from within my LAN?
In creating the .com.au zone in AD it gave me the ability to create an A record for the internal interface of the Sophos appliance and that is what I can now connect to. Albeit with a certificate error and as I said, after I add an exception to the proxy connection settings in IE.
Really? Does it have to be this hard?
