iphone fails to retrieve w pop3 proxy enabled

I have a UTM 110 on 9.106-17 and with pop3 proxy enabled phone email accounts error with a message that they are unable to contact the server. I am testing with two iphones on ios7. I find that disabling antivirus and spam filters makes no change but adding my device IP to Skip Transparent mode hosts/nets (with "Allow POP3 Traffic") resolves the issue as well. [:)]

    With pop3 proxy enabled, android phones are able to pull mail and send mail, iphones cannot.

    iphone reads: cannot get mail, the mail server at (our mail server domain) is not responding. verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings.

    Our current workaround will be to statically assign the iphone with a dhcp reservation and list the ip in the transparent exceptions.
