Relay problem - SMTP data timeout

Hello,

sometimes I have problems with outgoing emails. We relay our emails to the UTM. But some emails didn't transferred to the UTM. 
Now I have a problem with a pdf-file.

The log say the following:
2013:11:05-13:43:01 server exim-in[19775]: 2013-11-05 13:43:01 [1.2.3.4] F= R= Accepted: from relay
2013:11:05-13:43:10 server exim-in[19085]: 2013-11-05 13:43:10 1Vdfta-0004xp-1P SMTP data timeout (message abandoned) on connection from (server) [1.2.3.4]:18645 F=.

I have tried to send the email some times. After zipping the pdf the email was sent.

What can be the problem? What can I do?

    thanks. This was really the problem. Here is the log:

    2013:11:05-13:43:01 server snort[5579]: id="2101" severity="warn" sys="SecureNet" sub="ips" name="Intrusion protection alert" action="drop" reason="FILE-PDF Adobe Acrobat Reader incomplete JP2K image geometry - potentially malicious" group="340" srcip="1.2.3.4" dstip="1.1.1.1" proto="6" srcport="18664" dstport="25" sid="25460" class="Attempted User Privilege Gain" priority="1"  generator="1" msgid="0"

    I have now configured in the advanced settings the smtp-server and now emails are sending without problems.
