"spam" tag not added to mail subject and mail not forwarded to client

Dear all,

I was hoping you can give me an answer regarding an strange issue.

We are running an Astaro Security gateway v8 version 8.309.

What we would like is to bypass the spam quarantaine and add the tag *SPAM* to the email subject and then automatically.

forward the mail to the client pc.

What we have done is the following as per the admin guide:

- Reject at SMTP time "off"

- Spam filter, spam action 'warn', confirmed spam action 'warn' -> spam marker *SPAM*

Still the suspected spam email is beeing held in Quarantaine and requires a manual release.

Am i missing something?

Hope you can help.

Sing

  • Hello, Sing, and welcome to the User BB!

This sounds like a new manager that doesn't understand that 90-to-95% of emails are spam.  OK, let's open up the fire hose...

What you did should work.  Go back and check to be certain that you pressed [Apply] after each of those changes.  If  this still doesn't work, Up2Date ASAP to 8.311.  If you're still having problems, show the lines from the SMTP log file that relate to an email that should not have been quarantined.

    Cheers - Bob

  • Thanks Bob for your reply :-)
Im sure that i had pressed Apply after i commited my changes.
My thoughts were to upgrade to 8.311 also.. but you know.... managers.... risk... sigh... ;-)
