SMTP-Proxy and Exchange 2013

Hello,

At the moment we send our mails with an external provider but we´ve got recently a brand new Exchange 2013 server and now i`m trying to configure our utm for it.
When i set the sending connector in the exchange for transmitting via mx-record it works so far but am i right when i need to use the Astaro as a smarthost so that the emails are routed through the proxy?

These are my settings:

Global:
- Simple Mode

Routing:
- Domains: internal and external domain name (e.g.: domain.local and domain.de)
- Host List: the Exchange server
- Recipient Verification: with callout

Antivirus, Antispam, Exceptions, Relaying and Advanced in factory settings.

Exchange send connector:

- Emails via Smarthost (IP of Astaro)
- Authentification: tried no auth, Standard auth with user name and password and Exchange Server-auth without success.

Error Message: Require Basic Authentication

  • Now i`ve set the Exchange under Host-based Relay and in the Exchange console the Smarthostauth is "none" This works so far.

It won`t work with user-based relaying, all i get is "relay not permitted".
I would like to have a user-based relaying but i don`t get it to work here.

I tried to put a AD-Usergroup under "Allowed users/groups" in the "authenticated relay"-Box and set the Exchange sending connector to "Exchange-Serverauthentification".
