I am having trouble getting SMTP relay configured correctly. I followed the instructions for setting up SMTP for secure e-mail using an external mail server, but am still not able to receive e-mail from my network.
I am on verizon FIOS, and here is what I did:
General Settings
Created a DNS host object called smtp.verizon.net
Configure SMTP proxy
SMTP>Global TAB
Left Default (Simple Mode)
SMTP>Routing TAB
Added my domain to the Domains under Email Protection>>SMTP>>Routing. Selected Route by: Static host list and add the smtp.verizon.net under the Host list
Set Recipient Verification to recommended value
SMTP>Antivirus TAB
Left default
SMTP>AntiSpam TAB
Left default
SMTP>Relaying TAB
Set smtp.verizon.net as Upstream hosts/networks.
Host-based relay>Allowed hosts/networks >Added my internal networks
SMTP> Advanced TAB
Set the smart host under the Smarthost settings section using port 465 and my verizon credentials
On my local client I set the smtp server to the UTM gateway internal IP on port 25.
The local client reports that it can connect to the outgoing mail server, and the mail protection dashboard in the UTM shows mail as successfully sent.
The only problem is the tests that I sent to myself I never receive.
Does anyone have any insight into what I did incorrectly?
