Sending encrypted emails using gmail

I would like to know how I can send encrypted emails using astaro. I have VPN connections setup. I setup my ipad to use gmail s/mime I selected my cert that I use for my VPN connection. However when I compose an email it says that I can't find the cert for the receiver. Whom also uses gmail.  Does anyone know how to set this up?

  • You need to get a cert from your correspondant and upload it into the Encryption section. If your friend sends an email that is signed or encrypted, the Astaro will automatically strip the cert and store it.  After that, emails sent to that person can be encrypted.
