Encryption: Received encrypted file corrupt

Hello,

the german T-Mobile provides a service called "Rechnung-Online", where you can select to receive your bill and your itemised bill (Einzelentgeltnachweis) as an email. But if you select itemised bill they will send it only as a PGP encrypted mail. For that to work you have to upload your public key.

So I generated a key pair on my astaro for my mail address and sent myself an email from an external service to check if it works.

Then I uploaded the public key to their service and waited for the next bill. Today they sent the bill to my mail address, and regarding to the smtp-log is was decrypted. But unfortunately the attached and encrypted ZIP-File is broken and not readable. It's only 291 Bytes in size and when I look into it with a hex editor there is only the "PK"-header and thats it.

Does somebody has an idea how I can fix this issue?

Thanks in advance,
Dino

  • It sounds like T-Mobile sent you a file that's too small or maybe the Astaro blocked some of the content.  Is there anything unusual in the SMTP log?

    Cheers - Bob
