End User Portal http Bug?

Hi folks,

well, I played around with the end user portal and found out, that when I dont use https but http instead, the "portal" gets displayed as seen in the attachment.

I set the port to 4443 so only https traffic should work to get to the user portal.

But I think if you don't use https but instead http the portal shouldn't look like this. It should show nothing or display the right https link...it is confusing for some dum* customers.

    Any news on that? How about some Sophos/Astaro Techs get their hands on that or submitting a ticket/bug report?

    Hi,

    we had the same issue in a very large Installation. After intense troubleshooting with Sophos Developemt we found out that the reason for this behaviour is indeed the IE Compatibility Mode.

    If inside IE you press the "ALT" button you can reach through the Menu Extras (german) am menu option called "settings for the compatibility mode" (Don't know the exact english name of the menu)

    Inside this menu you find a Checkbox labeled "View intranet sites in compatibility mode". If this is checked then IE8 and above behave like IE7 and render all pages as a IE7 DocType. So this is why the page is not displayed completely. IE tries to be "intelligent" and thinks User Portal is a Intranet Page. Uncheck the box and everything works just fine.

    Bad thing is that i think this Box is checked by default in a fresh IE installation.
