ASG 120 + UTM 9 9.351-3 / POP SSL & Thunderbird 38.x.x Problem

Hello everyone. Our Company runs an ASG 120 with UTM 9.351-3. We are using Thunderbird as an email Client. At the Moment we use Version 31.7.0 to connect to german telekom Pop accounts via ssl Port 995.

My Problem is that i want to upgrade Thunderbird to the newest Version but after upgrading to any Version 38.x.x we can´t connect to the Pop3 Servers anymore. I looked through the UTM9 protocols but couldn´t find anything there.

Thunderbird just Shows "connect to securepop.t-online.de" and nothing happens. Sending via smpt & ssl works fine though.

Any ideas ?

Best regards

Dennis

  • I ran into the same problem tonight when trying to use Thunderbird 38.x.x with the Sophos UTM Pop3 filtering.

I had to revert back to Thunderbird 31.7.0 and disable updates.   If I didn't disable updates, it would successfully connect to the POP3 server with 31.7, but would break once the automatic update to 38.x happened.

Just wondering if there are any solutions out there now that this issue has been around a few months.

    Thanks,

    Andrew
