Shutting down virtual Sophos iView by UPS when there is a power loss

Hi all,

i'm running Sophos iView 2.00 MR2 776 as a virtual machine on a free VMware hypervisor (ESXi) 6.5. The hardware of the virtualization host is protected by an UPS which can shut down the ESXi normally via VMware vMA so that first all running virtual machines with VMware Tools or similar can be shut down normally, too.

But Sophos iView has no VMware Tools or similar like the Sophos UTM for example. So if there's a longer power loss the UPS shuts down the iView machine by powering it down and not by shutting it down. By only powering down this virtual machine there could happen data losses or the machine is destroyed and couldn't be started any more. Then you can only set up a new installation of Sophos iView.

Do you know how to shut down the Sophos iView machine normally by the VMware vMA? Or is there a possibility to apply VMware Tools to this virtual machine?

Thank you.
