How will Meltdown/Spectre patches affect SG 125w performace?

Hello, I'm very close to buy new SG 125w hw appliance, but I'm not sure if after patches instalation related to Intel Meltdown/Spectre will this machine able to perform IPS/AV for 30 users?

Isn't it safer to buy e.g. FortiWeb 61E hardware as according to specs it use non-intel cpu?

Maybe the other CPU has the design issue too? This is not limited to intel cpus.

And no one could answer this question at the moment because there is no patch available, nor has Sophos finished its investigation to say a patch is even necessary.

It's all speculative these days.

Hi Ivan and welcome to the UTM Community!

To attack the UTM, you would need to have console or SSH access to the machine, so only an insider could attack it easily. Is a 125 big enough for you? Ask your reseller. I prefer the 135 if the 115 isn't adequate.
