Upgrading CPU

I currently have a Intel Core i5-2400 Quad Core and will be upgrading it to a Core i7-2700 Quad Core.  Does the Sophos software require a reinstall?  When I do this with windows 7 it usually does not.

    Will you be keeping the same motherboard? I think that since the i5 and i7 are both multicore CPUs that Sophos would still use the same kernel. Now I'm not sure if hyperthreading makes a difference or not. Maybe someone can chime and tell us if the kernel for a non-hyperthreaded cpu is the same as a hyperthreaded one.
