Sophos UTM 9.503 update crashed my software installation

Third fresh install and the same effect, each time I install the 9.503 update my UTM won't work correctly anymore.

It stall during boot process telling STARTING HAL DAEMON (1min).

Another stall about my UPS NUT driver, and then after it works for 1 or 2 week. then after it won't boot anymore.

Even before I restore my backup.

Triad to install a 32 bit version that didn't had any problem with updates but limited to 2 GB ram.

Material : Old MacPro 3,1 2008 20GB Ram - 250 GB SSD

impossible to go after install of XG on this platform. it install but never boot.

  • Salut Stephane and welcome to the UTM Community!

I would definitely use the 64-bit version.  Try downloading a new copy and then burn it to a DVD at 4x or slower.  Any better luck with that?

    Cheers - Bob

  • Hello Bob,

Thanks for your interest with my problem.

With all the problems with 9.5 ISO I uses an "old" 9.408 DVD to install it. And the result is the same, when I install it with 32 bit or 64 bits it works perfectly.

When I install 64 bit version it is after updating to the last version that the problems begin. It take a very long time to start when it start.

I finally unplugged USB from may UPS for a slightly shorter startup.

I've frequent dhcp server problems (restarting), sometimes it is web server (webadmin). Yesterday I reinstall completely and see one 100% cpu core for openvpn, I had to kill daemon to get it back to normal.

I'mp looking to migrate to XG in Virtualbox, just have to find a Mac OS compatible NIC PCI card.
