Can I have an SG230 and SG230 Rev2 in a high availability set?

We currently have an SG230 that is coming to the end of its license period.  We would like to purchase a new SG230 Rev2 and use the older SG230 as a slave in a high availability set.  Can the two be 'commingled'?

    Yes, you can mix different revisions from same device type.

    But i would not suggest this.

    I've got a different information from my distributor...He said mixing Rev.1 and Rev.2 is not possible...

     

    So better double check this fact!

    It's my experience that, not only can you mix a Rev.1 and Rev.2, you can mix hardware-based and VM-based software versions.  I would ask your distributor to show you an official answer from Sophos.

    Hi Bob,

    we already mix different revisions (with different port speed too). So this work.

    But HW and SW Appliance use different licenses, so mixing should not be possible.
