Hello all
I've been running 9.312 for awhile and I have about 28 patch to install to get to 9.5. Couple months back, I went from 9.3 to 9.4
but experienced major problem with accessing some websites and all wifi internet connections failed. In short, I revert back to 9.3.
Yesterday, I decided to give it a go again. I think I got to as far as 9.405 where everything was working fine and decided to keep
going. When I got to 9.41x, don't remember exactly what patch but will test again this weekend, the problem started again.
The http.log file showed sites were being blocked by "unverified or uncategorized". So, as part of troubleshooting, I decided to
temporarily allow all uverified or uncategorized traffics. That seem to help a bit but wifi connections still failing. The http.log now
showed some sites are "timed out" so I decided to add those sites to the skip list. The skip list managed to mitigate the "timed out"
sites and are no longer reported in http.log but wifi devices are still unable to get to the internet.
I'm using transparency mode - I have mobile devices, home monitor(cameras and thermostat), voip, and wifi printer in the house and
all failed after I got to 9.41x.
I installed the 9.358-3.1 iso and restored a 9.312 configuration backup and it worked fine. All devices including the wifi connections
are back to normal.
If 9.41x requires maintaining a skip list or allowing unverified or uncategorized sites through, I think I'm staying at 9.358 for awhile
but will try again this weekend and see how far up I can get to 9.4xx before it starts failing again.
I apologize if this issue has been discussed a billionth time...I do occasionally check through the forum but more often when I encounter
a problem... : )
Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks!
