ignored becuase it lacks a name (buggy hw?) - Intel X710/X557-AT and X550T - Sophos UTM 9.502

We recently bought two more Supermicro Servers to be used for our Sophos UTM (Sophos UTM 9.502), but it looks like the installed Intel X710/X557-AT and X550T are "ignored becuase it lacks a name (buggy hw?)"

Other OS like RHEL 7 or citrix XenServer support the cards already.

May be because of the  "ignored becuase it lacks a name (buggy hw?)"-message, there is some sort of possibility to use the NICs? Or do we have to buy new hardware? Or switch away form Sophos UTM?

And yes, I know the NICs are not on the HCL from 2015 ... but it is summer 2017 ... so long time since than.

    Götz, you might check the "unofficial" HCL at the top of this forum.  I wouldn't be optimistic though.  The easiest will probably be just buying some supported NICs.

    Hi Bob,

    thx for your suggestion. I got a more or less really disappointing feedback from our contact and sophos support: It is likely that they never will support that card and that feature request are up to 99% be ignored to support it ... So I'll look for some old Hardware.

    THX Sophos ... I miss the time as you could talk with the astaro developers directly .... and they convinced the marketing :)

    Time to update the supported hardware for Sophos!

    es ist wirklich an der Zeit das der Kernel mal mit aktueller Hardware-Unterstützung kommt bzw. der Kernel an sich mal aktualisiert wird.

    Aber solche Anfragen werden ja leider ignoriert.
