Issue faced with Up2Date - interface got deleted post reboot

We are facing issue whenever we perform firmware update, while running Up2Date patches getting installed successfully and post reboot we lost access to devices.

In the above case

1. We can access device by using console/  HA interface i.e. ETH0 only.

2. Configuration for rest of interfaces deleted automatically.

3. Device doesn't allow us to reconfigure IPs on these interfaces and Factory reset in the only option to restore network.

Devices are configured in HA (Active-Passive) - we tried with individual device by removing HA too but no luck.

  • Hi, Dev, and welcome to the  UTM Community!

This is a very unusual problem - you should get Sophos Support involved ASAP.

If you have a backup made prior to when the Up2Date "broke" your configuration, put it in the root directory of a USB memory stick, shut down both nodes, insert the USB stick in one node and power it up.  If you now can reach it via WebAdmin, check the 'High Availability' section to confirm that it's up and the ACTIVE Master.  If the Master is working correctly, disconnect the Ethernet cables from the other node, power it up, do a factory reset, power it down, reconnect the Ethernet cables and power it up.  Any luck with that?

    Cheers - Bob
