UTM Home Edition w/ J1900

Hello,

I am looking for a box to run UTM Home. I guess this kind of box will be sufficient ?

https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/Low-Price-Desktop-Mini-pc-Celeron-J1800-Dual-Core-Dual-lan-J1900-Quad-Core-2-41Ghz/32616069745.html?spm=2114.30011508.3.148.jv9qAw&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_2,searchweb201603_1&btsid=5afa2a21-ba4e-4bdf-9c71-30e5e947d9ca

I want to enable IPS and Antivrus ...

So I am wondering if the Intel J1900 will be OK.

  • not sure if UTM-Installer will support this hardware...

zotac ci323  is also a no-noise cheap box and installer works with it.. use search forum for more infos...

should be ok for ips and antivirus... if you spend 8GB RAM in the system... and a 120gb ssd then your fine...

    greets

  • I loaded UTM 9 on this exact hardware a few weeks ago. Other than my install failing because I was trying to load the Hardware Appliance install ISO, I had no issues. I love the footprint size of this hardware. That's what drew me to it.

    Here's what I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0148KG6DC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

2 unsolicited notes I recently learned during my installation:

-Use the Software Appliance ISO for the install

-If you're a cable modem subscriber look out for the MTU size bug on the external interface
