How to backup hardware changes on utm9 software install

Hi,

I have installed Sophos utm home on a hardware where I had to do changes via console once installed due to having HDMI and no VGA.

I also changed my NIC numbering i.e. from (eth 0 and 1) to (eth 1 and 2).

Currently it is working all fine and haven't really got the time to mess with it anymore but I recall having done a factory reset and I had to console into the box and do all the changes again.

Is there a way I can back this changes and if in future something goes wrong I could then just restore the correct changes?

Below is the link to the original thread and how I managed to do the installation.

Thanks

  • Hi

Sorry there was another link through that which is below

Basically I could not install UTM home as I only had hdmi connection and installed it on another PC after which I had to sort the NIC settings manually.

I did a lot of changes and just wondered whether a restore would fix those issue in future or would I have to remember how I initially installed it.

    Thanks
