Which is considered more stable 9.356-3 or 9.404-5?

We are currently v9.320-2 deployed on all hardware/virtual appliances, and this is working fine. We just purchased some new hardware appliances and considering upgrading to 9.4 before deployment. Which is the most stable patch to upgrade to atm? 9.356-3 or 9.404-5?

For existing 9.320 installs; would it be recommended to upgrade straight to 9.4 or should I leapfrog to 9.35 than to 9.4

Thanks

  • Hi, Stuart, and welcome to the UTM Community!

Depending on what you're using (IPsec site-to-site, RED 15, etc., etc.), there are reasons to do 9.356 and reasons to go to 9.404.  Your best bet is to read the release notes for each and to search here for issues associated with either one.  I've kept a couple of clients on 9.3, but most now are on 9.4.

    Cheers - Bob

We are looking for the most stable. 9.4 brings sandstorm which is something we would consider using at head office but stability over all.

We use 90% of the features in 9.3. Mainly not RED or Wireless Security. These are handled by S2S and a separate controller for wireless.

Also is 9.4 currently supported in SUM?

That is good to know. TY
