UTM 110: Capable of running 9.4xx and higher?

Hi,

still running 9.356-3 on all UTM 110 machines. Average RAM usage is between 60 and 70 %.

Is it ok to upgrade to 9.4xx or will the machines suffer further performance degradation?

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards,
bfg

PS: Is there any official (or unofficial ;) ) documentation on how to securely install/configure a freshly bought UTM/SG yet? I am looking fomething like a checklist.

  • Hi bfg.

Unless you activate any new features, as Sandstorm or STAS, you should not see any further degradation. I've updated a few of those last week and so far, so good.

If you need a word from Sophos about it, you can check reply 11 from Alan Toews on https://blogs.sophos.com/2016/02/02/heres-what-to-expect-from-the-upcoming-utm-elevated-9-4/.

As for your other question, I don't think you will find any of that. Security is a concept that varies a lot from individual to individual and from company to company. That being said, there are some really good stick posts on every session of this community that should help you get a sense of the major best practices.
