Effect of letting a fullgaurd UTM license lapse?

We have an SG310 cluster (active/failover) running a fullgaurd license. We currently only use this as a basic firewall ie network protection but don't use anything else (like AV, web filtering, webserver protection, vpn etc)

It's simply sitting there as a firewall with active failover as it's internal. Our license is due for renewal within the next month so we were wondering what the effect of this would be when the license expires? The SG310's are in a very critical area so we can't afford them to stop.

  • Just a guess, as the network protection is a paid license it will stop working.

  • Only simple static routing and packetfilter will continue to work. The second cluster-node will shut down.

If you don't need other features, you need to renew at least one subscription (possible "network security").

  • I second Dirk's suggestion, Louis.  That not only maintains additional services like HA and Intrusion Prevention, it also means that your 310s continue to be covered by the next-day replacement policy.
