It is good to hear about the development, important would be the outcome.

If it remains as last release with just major fixes and few features or it includes features that would justify the purchase mainly 3 years, like no IKEv2 which saw its entry in  the roadmap now almost 2 years and many such highly required major features.

The reason for raising the discussion because of a total no show to:

1. Feature requests, (highly miss those days back with astaro where the top listed usually made to next releases)

2. Voices from the community forums and user feedback

3. 2+ years of development of XG with no promising take over UTM, I am not comparing a different product this is in house.

4. Struggling with support with XG their high end product

the list does not seem to shorten.

I would really love to see the  product gaining the lost grounds. But may be it's already too late.... as i already read here of users not considering 3 years purchase and planning to shift to other technologies and where by far XG is not the choice.

Sounds like a bit of honesty.

so its September 3rd, no update on the beta? still letting us down ... :-( 

The purpose of a beta testing is to find the bugs that development did not find during the alpha phase.   If you have testing resources, please put them to work on 9.510

Got this from the UTM product manager 4 days ago:

"We are still preparing for the beta, I do not have a fixed date as of yet. We are looking at next month for the beta start."

Anybody heard of the NO-IKEv2-Support rumors?

It doesn't seem to be a rumor. Support confirmed that the implementation of IKEv2 has been postponed.

Was told yesterday from a reliable source, that IKEv2 will never come to the UTM, as XG is the way to go. It will certainly not come in 9.6 and 9.7 looks like it’s gonna be the last firmware for UTM…. (Not confirmed by Sophos...)

I understand the difficulties in having two firewall products running in parallel...but I promised a lot of my customers that UTM 9.6 would be ready for IKEv2, now I need to tell them to get a new/extra firewall...or pay for UTM --> XG Conversion

Can someone briefly summarize the reasons why IKEv2 is needed, and the security or regulatory problems for IKEv1 connections.   This is a topic I have not researched, but I assume IKEv2 was invented because of deficiencies in v1.
