Backup/restore from Astaro (Sophos) UTM625 revision 1 to newer revision

Hi,

Recently our standby node died due to HDD problems. Sophos support doesn't have any spare UTM625 nodes revision 1 left, so they decided to replace our both nodes with two new UTM625 nodes from the latest revision.

What would be the best solution to restore our HA environment?

Can we remove the dead node from our current cluster and replace it with a newer revision and sync? From there a failover to the new node, remove the old one and replace it with the newer revision node and sync as well? Or it's better to leave it like this and rebuild the HA environment and restore from our current backup?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Rolf

  • Hoi Rolf and welcome to the UTM Community!

I wouldn't rebuild the HA environment.  I don't think the Rev.1 will balk at recognizing the Rev.2 device as a fellow UTM 625.  Please let us know if your idea doesn't work.
