ASG425 subscription renovation

HI team, I have a old ASG425 with network protection and web protection.

This license will expire in a month and I need to know that is possible to make the license renovation for more 36 months with the ASG firmware.

I saw here in the forum that there is a way to make the migration of this device for SG firmware..this is the only method that I have to make the migration of ASG today? I don't understand about End-of-Life.

I prefer keep the ASG firmware in the device.

Thanks a lot!

  • Hi and welcome to the UTM Community!

End-of-Life means that Sophos is no longer selling subscription renewals for the 425 nor replacing them under warranty.  It's also not possible to migrate the 425 to the XG firmware.

The only way to continue using the 425 would be to remove its identity and purchase software subscriptions just a you would do for a regular server.  If you want to know how many IPs your UTM is seeing, execute the following command at the command line:

    /usr/local/bin/count_active_ip.plx --showcount

My recommendation would be to purchase a new SG 330 with Net and Web Protection subscriptions, but you need to talk with your reseller about this.
