Info: Upgrading PostgreSQL to 64-bit on UTM 9.5

Hello,

For high availability (HA) deployments, it is not recommended to upgrade the database while HA is enabled. The cluster should be dissolved and reestablished after the node databases were upgraded separately.

Please see our KBA on the topic: https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/126593

Bob

  • Hi Bob,

Thanks to you and Louis for these step by step instructions.

Did my 9.502 HA upgrade yesterday without any problems.

    A few questions...

    - How does one know/verify if the UTM postgreSQL was running the 64-bit version?

    - Does a new v9.502 distro installation install the 64-bit libraries by default or would you have to do the 64-bit upgrade after the install?

Fresh installation are now using the 64-bit version.

For the check I don't know at the moment, but you feel it if you use your reports and wonder why they run a lot faster. At least this was my experience.

    Best
