My iPhone client, Server auditor (which I only got three days ago), just timed out, but PuTTy immediately came up with "Server closed connection unexpectedly" - or something like that, so please correct my recollection.
In the SSH log, you will see lines containing fatal: no matching mac found:. This means that some weak ciphers and HMAC algorithms were removed in 9.403.
I downloaded a new version of PuTTy and all is now copacetic with it and V9.403.
