connection to server timed out...

Hi Fellas:

I cannot seem to get to this website using Astaro for some reason - it just trows the 'connection to server timed out' message.

When I look in the http log, it doesn't even seem like it tried at all.

I tried whitelisting and the transparent mode skiplist (out of desperation) but still no luck even though it seems to work with my BordumManager and TMG proxies.

Any ideas?

All of the stinking university websites seem to always give me troubles...

    None that I can think of.  If DNS looks in its cache and doesn't find what it wants, it queries its forwarder.  DNS cache entries are tagged with the TTL found in the authoritative nameserver for each entry; after the TTL counts down to zero, the entry is erased from the cache, and automatically looked up the next time it's requested.

    This is still a mystery to me...

    If I go thru the tools menu, I am able to resolve to that ip now (I couldn't yesterday) however, I still cannot get to that site.

    How do I clear the DNS cache?

    Is the HTTP/S proxy in Transparent mode?  If so, the clients are responsible for their own DNS lookups, and you will need to look there instead of on the ASG.  Only when the proxy is in Standard or an Authenticated mode does the ASG perform the DNS lookup for the web request.

    To clear the DNS Cache on your ASG, Go to Network Services > DNS > Global tab, scroll down and click the "Flush resolver cache now" button (see screenshot)
