UTM SG310 Public IP address change

Hi Guys

i am looking for some guidance.

i have a UTM SG310 with 7 RED 15's linked all working fine, The internet provider has told me that i need to change the public/static IP address of the site as soon as due to an upgrade.

my Question is do I just change the Static IP in the Interface to the new IP address, will the Reds connect or do i need to go into each Red setting on the UTM and change the UTM Hostname IP to the new one?

is it that simple or is there more work to do ?

any help will be gratefully accepted

  • You have to change the UTM IP or name within every RED-definition. ... Or add the new IP/Name as second UTM.

Really simple, but RED reboots after the config-change.

  • Hi Khalid and welcome to the UTM Community!

Rather than using an IP as the hostname, use an FQDN so that you only need to change the A record in your authoritative name server.

  • Hi Dirk .. may thanks .... worked like a charm. i firstly changed the utm IP to the new address and then in Red Management i changed the old IP with the new , gave it ten minutes and all has worked perfectly! and as you said simple! thank you soo much !

  • Hi Bob , Many thanks for the above , FQDN is something I am looking at changing to in the near future and understand where you are coming from and makes sense to do
