Problem with PHP version of web user portal

Hello community,

we are using a Sophos UTM9 SG210.

We recently moved our homepage to another webspace. The domains remained at the provider of our old webspace. There is a subdomain (utm.domain...) which is used to access the web user interface.

For this subdomain, we had to charge an extra fee for an old php version. I think this is an automatic detection. In the menu of the provider i could switch the php version to a newer one. A warning says that then all old php functionality won't work any more.

Now I am not sure if this has any impact for the accessibility of out firewall. Since the web space and the functionality of the Sophos user interface is hosted directly on the firewall it has nothing to do with that provider, or does it?

On what php version is the web user portal of the utm running?

    Hello Erik,

    having a subdomain in DNS at your provider does not impact or interfere with a webspace somewhere else. So this is not the cause for your warings you get.

    AFAIK, the userportal is running with HTML and Javascript, there is no PHP involved.

    Do you perhaps have setup a webpage with some redirections to the external URLs of your UTM?

    thanks for your answer.

    I wasn't present then the sophos and the web space configuration was made. In fact i didn't know about the subdomain entry at this provider till the recent changes made on the website. Sadly there is no documentation either.

    This is why I wasn't sure if ther could be an connection.

    Your answer fits into my thought about this.

    I changed the settings on the provider page and it had no effect to the user portal.
