UTM Certificates

Hi,  I have not been on a UTM for awhile now but have been asked to help out with another company and could use some help with setting up the certificates properly.

Were I am getting confused is getting the WebAdmin certs to work with Chrome/Firefox and IE.  I have it working fine on Chrome and IE because I was able to install the newly created webadmin cert into the Windows Trusted Certificates Store.  But firefox is looking for the CA.  To be clear I did import the new web admin cert into firefox, but it still wants the CA for that cert.  The only problem is there is no CA in the certificate management area other than the VPN CA.  I thought maybe I could just recreate the CA for the webadmin but no dice.  When I go to create a new CA it is looking for an upload.

My question is what is the best process to create a new CA for the UTM?  Or do I download the CA from Sophos for this?

  • If you're using a relatively modern version of UTM then you can also use Let's Encrypt. You can directly create Lets Encrypt certificates from within UTM and use these for webadmin, userportal, WAF, etc.
