Sophos UTM SG330 - Max SSL VPN connections?

Hi all,

Not a problem, just a general enquiry. How many SSL VPN users would you expect a Sophos SG330 device could handle at once? I've seen Sophos documentation on the amount of concurrent connections the device can handle but not a number of VPN users.

    As you undoubtedly expect, the answer is "it depends..."

    The resellers' cheat sheet says the 330 can handle 250 SSL VPN tunnels at a time, but that's if the 330 is doing nothing other than firewalling and SSL VPN.

    To lower the load on the CPU, use UDP instead of TCP and disable compression.  If you're not having an overloaded CPU, but people complain about slowness, enable compression.  Another slowness remedy is increasing the upload speed of your WAN connection.
