how do I share SSL VPN network adapter on windows 10?

Hello there, I have a laptop running windows 10, connected via wifi to a verizon hotspot. The hotspot also supports usb tethering (which I have not tried)

The laptop is connected via the sophos ssl vpn client to our UTM. I'm trying to plug a device that does not support a VPN into the ethernet port on the laptop. Then, ideally I would go into windows network adapters, and right click on the sophos ssl VPN adapter, click properties, sharing, and share it to my ethernet port.

However, when I do that I cannot get any communication. If I share my wifi adapter to ethernet it works, but the traffic isnt routed through the tunnel.

Can anyone come up with a clever way to make this work? Is this even possible?

Thank you,

Daniel
