Looking to migrate from pfSense

Hello,

I'm currently running a Netgate SG-2440, and was looking to upgrade to a SG-3100.

However, end in the process I came across a good deal on a Sophos SG-105, but don't know much about them. Wanted to see if I could get a quick idea if it was worth considering (or even a different Sophos product).

I primarily use the Netgate in a small web hosting environment; with about 10-15 VMs, none with overly heavy loads. I'd need to be able to easily manage virtual IP addresses, port groups, and VPN access, and would like intrusion detection and tools similar to pfBlockerNG.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as far as Sophos appliances? Thanks for your time!

  • Hi

I'd suggest talking to a Sophos Partner for your network requirement and the suitable Sophos device for your network. Please refer to this link to locate a Sophos Partner (Reseller).

  • Hi Justin and welcome to the UTM Community!

If this is for use with the free home-use license, I would not buy a new Sophos appliance.  In this case, tell us what you have at home in terms of the number of computers/phones and what your up/down connection speeds are.

If this is a business, do as Jay suggests and find a good reseller in your area.

Let us know your result in any case.

    Cheers - Bob
