Keep interfaces "UP" on HA Slave

We have implemented network switch monitoring for a client. The Sophos SG HA cluster on this network is causing alerts whenever there is a node transition.

eth1 on node1 is connected to port B21 on switch1

eth1 on node2 is connected to port B22 on switch1

eth1 is configure as PPPoE, and on the Slave node, the link for eth1 is kept off, and so we get an alert when the nodes swap roles (eg firmware upgrade) because a port linking two managed devices (node[12] and switch1) has transitioned from UP to DOWN.

Is there a way to tell Sophos SG to keep the port in an UP state even when the node is passive, to avoid these alerts?

Thanks

James

  • Hi James,

It sounds like everything is working correctly with your current config  Have you tried leaving the interface defined on eth1 on the Slave enabled?
