try to have a look into /var/confd/var/storage/snapshots/

There should be a file named backup.plx

Maybe you have to remove the drive from the device. I think  you don’t have a support contract for the device. Otherwise open a support ticket or speak to your reseller.

if drive is ok but there is no backup-file, you can connect the drive into another SG-device and run the software to create and download a backup-file.

how would i go about accessing it tried ext3fsd and could nor read the drives.

From what kind of system do you try to read that drive?

You could try for windows systems.
