Migration tool for Sophos UTM 9 Home to XG

I currently have the home licenses for Sophos UTM 9 Home and I've been running it successfully for awhile. I would like to try out the new XG UTM but I don't want to redo the whole configuration (I have a lot of services, ports, rules, etc, defined). Is there a migration tool available for UTM 9 to XG? Everything I read tells me to contact a reseller, which I don't have since I'm using the home version.

  • Agreed with my friend, Ian - starting afresh is the best way to learn.  I took part in an early beta of a migration tool almost two years ago, and people just stopped participating because there was too much not working or not yet available.  I wouldn't be in a big hurry to leave UTM though as XG is missing many of the features available on the UTM and the UTM will still be around for a few more years.  Business users that want to use Azure and Sophos Central Endpoint get advantages with XG that aren't available with the UTM.

    Cheers - Bob

  • Bob,

The only reason why I am thinking about switching is the 50 up limit. As we add more and more things to the network I am constantly having to flush the DHCP.

I know there are other ways around it however i am just not feeling like spinning up a DHCP Server just to avoid that. It is an un-necessary VM that I would have to spin up just do deal with this.
