I am locked out of my UTM device and reset instructions are not working. I am hoping someone can help me.
I am using the free Home Edition UTM (found here: https://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/sophos-utm-home-edition.aspx). I have it running on a mini PC (with a i3 processor, 128gb ssd, 4gb ram). I've been running it for a couple of years, everything has been fine. A week ago I changed the password and apparently recorded it wrong and so now I need help so that I can once again login.
I followed the instructions on this site for resetting all passwords on the device (found here: https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/115346) . After I reset the loginuser and root account passwords and reboot the device, I can still not login with the password (I used ClosedDoor as your instructions suggest). It always tells me "login incorrect". I'm not sure if it's related, but one thing I did notice is that on the Grub screen it is labeled as "Sophos UTM 9.4" but on the splash screen that comes up, it shows "UTM 9.3". I'm really hoping someone can help me.
All in all, if this doesn't work, is there any other way for me to get into my device again? I've spent years tweaking things here and there and would hate to lose all of that and have to start all over again. In grub there was an option labeled as "rescue"...what exactly does that do? Could it help me in this situation?
Thanks.
