What forums (boards) are required for the Sophos UTM 9 group?

As an immediate reaction to Astaro.org being unavailable we created two forums - one for general discussions and one for the remainder of the Copernicus Beta.

We will migrate the existing content of https://astaro.org to matching boards so it's preserved however we need new forums in this group.  I'm looking for comments and suggestions on how you would like posts to be grouped together and the forums that therefore need to be created.

You can have as many or as little as you need.  You can, for example, have one for UTM, one for SUM, and one for 'other' such as RED etc.  Your you may want to pick and choose from some or all of the boards on Astaro.org.  This should be seen as a point of fixing any problems with your had with the previous forum structure.

Let me know your needs.

  • I would go with the previous forum categories, subtract the unnecessary ones (german). Maybe something to separate the Up2Date and release notes section? It would be nice to have all the software releases in the same forum with all the associated comments as well.

    Can you explain that a bit differently, Joel? I'm not sure what change you're recommending.

    Just one forum dedicated to Up2Date releases. Historically the Up2Date releases have all been bundled into the "Hardware, Install, Up2Date..." topic. At times, discussions would get lost about the Up2Date releases. So say I'm looking for a specific bug fix, or the most recent discussion about Up2Date soft releases, it could prove useful to have all information related to software updates all in one forum.

    It may have just been me, but I always found it tough to find the release notes and whether people were having any "gotcha's" when it came to software releases.

    The way it was on Astaro.org works though, if the right information is stickied. We probably don't want to have a different forum for EVERY single topic, I just thought that the Up2Date discussions are a huge topic.

    Either way is fine though. :)
