Sophos Home UTM: 9.510-5
Gigabit uplink to a 5th Gen Apple Airport Extreme acting as an AP only. (DHCP/DNS/etc are off and all handled by the Sophos box)
Laptops, iPhones, other Android devices all work perfectly. Except my brand new Google Pixel 3. I've had it swapped for a new device thinking it was a problem with the phone and the second one does the same thing. It connects to the wifi, allows you to surf for a minute or so and then stops moving traffic. Disconnect and then reconnect and it will move traffic again for a minute or so. Even if you disconnect/reconnect Google Play store will never download an app or update an app if you try and force it. Very weird.
Things I've tried so far:
1) Different AP, same behavior.
2) Factory reset the phone (first and the replacement)
3) Rebooted the Sophos box (haha - it was a long stretch, this thing is rock solid!)
4) Web Protection Disabled
5) IPS Disabled
6) Phone pulls wifi perfectly at work off of Cisco Enterprise AP's
7) Disabled the Pi-Hole, disconnect/reconnect and tried again
8) Used alternate DNS
9) Booted the phone into safe mode
Ironically, my Pixel 1 never had this issue. My Pixel 2 which I haven't sold yet is on the same wifi and works perfectly. I'm lost... I'm an IT pro (not on the network side obviously) and I'm stumped. My lack of knowledge in networking is becoming very apparent! :(
I've dug through some logs, but admittedly I don't know exactly where to look, or what to look for. I've been looking for anything related to Google, Play, Play Store, etc. I've seen some posts about people having to white list gtv1.com (or something close to that) but I have Web Protection off.
Any tips, guidance, anything would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
