SOPHOS UTM 9 FIRMWARE UPDATE QUESTIONS

Hi Guys,

I have a question regarding the Firmware update of our SOPHOS UTM 9 device, I'm just wondering.. is it necessary to update all of this?

What will happened if I didn't install all of these?

Hi Justin,

if you just install the oldest update the other updates keep in the queue.

When you install the latest update all other updates get installed too.

My current selection for most-reliable is 9.506.

It depends on your used modules. You can read here to every version what will happen and what not if you search for it.

But mostly it does not affect your current configuration.

Check in the release notes what changes the update bring in.

There you can read what bug fixes and security issues are fixed.

If there are security issues you should plan to install the update.
But before check here in the community if there are any problems with a firmware update.

And as Bob says you can use 9.506 without any problems.

If you don't Up2Date, the partition will eventually get too full to apply any Up2Dates and you will have to do a lot of command line manipulation. Go ahead and move to 9.506 now.
